Loons
Please do not disturb the loon nesting areas.
Help us ensure Canada’s Lakes are loon-friendly by reviewing the Canadian Lakes Loon Survey.
Invasive Species
Japanese Knotweed, an extremely invasive plant, has been identified at Lake Hughes. Eurasian Water-Milfoil, although not identified, poses a risk to the lake.
Please visit our Environment page for more information on how to identify these species.
Fishing
Lake Hughes is one of the few remaining trout fisheries in the lower Laurentians, however our lake trout and brook trout populations are very fragile. We ask that all members and guests please fish responsibly and practice catch and release.
Please visit our Environment page for more information.
